The JDI Group proudly announces the promotion of Drew VanNess, P.E., to the position of Executive Vice President. Drew’s journey within The JDI Group is a testament to his unwavering commitment, exceptional leadership, and outstanding contributions to both the company and the community.
Drew’s tenure with The JDI Group dates back to 2005 when he joined as a co-op. Over the years, Drew has exhibited remarkable dedication, steadily progressing through various roles within the company. His extensive involvement includes serving as Director of Operations – Process Group, Safety Director, Social Committee member, Sector Team Member, and Coordinator for the “Engineer for a Day” program.
In recognition of his exceptional talents and contributions, Drew was honored as a recipient of the 2019 Consulting-Specifying Engineer Magazine 40 Under 40 Award. His professional journey underscores his commitment to growth and excellence, culminating in his latest appointment as Executive Vice President.
A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Drew is a Registered Professional Engineer in Ohio and several other states. His technical proficiency is complemented by his proficiency in several software platforms, including AutoCAD/AutoCAD MEP and Navisworks.
Drew’s expertise spans various project focus areas, including industrial ventilation, commercial HVAC, dust collection, domestic and sanitary plumbing systems, material flow and handling, and machine design. His proficiency in engineering and leadership has been instrumental in supporting long-standing clients such as General Mills, Anderson Development Company, and others.
One of Drew’s memorable projects includes his lead role in a two-phase upgrade of a pneumatically conveyed flour delivery system for Star of the West in Willard, Ohio. The project involved engineering modifications to optimize existing infrastructure, resulting in a significant increase in flour delivery capacity.
