JDI’s civil and survey team was responsible for a comprehensive waterline replacement and extension project in the city’s downtown and surrounding areas. The project involved navigating congested alleys and crossing major roadways. Construction was carried out in phases using both open-cut and horizontal directional drilling techniques. Our services included surveying, design, erosion control, bid preparation, cost estimating, specifications, bid analysis, and construction support. JDI collaborated closely with city officials and the lead contractor to ensure the project’s success. The project also required EPA permitting and careful work around wetlands. The project covered approximately 13,500 linear feet of 8-inch waterline replacement, with a current total construction cost of $3.8 million.
