Engineering services completed for a large midwest chemical plant, the truck loading expansion allows the client to process and load diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) at their nitrogen plant. It was challenging to develop the more sophisticated loading process, as it was new to our client. Truck drivers can control the innovative top-loading process, thereby eliminating the need for additional load operator personnel.
The new expansion included four loading scales, a motor control center building, and a 1M gallon tank for urea. In addition, we designed a prill dissolver as a backup when urea is unavailable to make DEF.
JDI completed the $7.4 million project within one year from start to finish.
