As a Chemical Engineer with The JDI Group, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of petrochemical processes. With a Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited university and 5+ years of petrochemical experience, you’re well-equipped to excel in this role. Candidates with other degrees and relevant experience will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models that meet company standards and client expectations
- Work with Sr. Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives and support the creation of solutions to unique problems
- Utilize your expertise in refining or chemical industries to drive innovation and efficiency
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and optimize petrochemical processes
- Conduct field verifications and site walks to identify, confirm, and address issues, incorporating solutions into design packages as needed
- Work towards professional registration, demonstrating your commitment to excellence
- Leverage your experience with Aspen Icarus software to enhance project outcomes
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
- An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of practice or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of employment is encouraged
- Experience with Aspen Icarus, Navisworks, PIPE-FLO, or similar hydraulic modeling software is a plus
- Experience in designing process and mechanical systems, including high-purity gas and liquid delivery systems, sanitary and hygienic piping and equipment, HVAC, purified water and steam systems, scrubber systems, or other technically comparable systems
- Skilled in troubleshooting design challenges
- Strong communication skills with clients and team members
- Ability to self-manage assignments for multiple projects
- Chemical, refining, manufacturing, or food experience a plus
- Salary Range: $80,000 – $130,000/year depending on education, experience, and any certifications directly related to the position
