A small, local plumbing shop was running their business on an antiquated physical Dell server. The client’s server suffered multiple drive failures resulting in complete data loss. JDI’s IT team had been maintaining quality backups and were able to restore the previous night’s backup image to a loaner server that was provided until new hardware could be purchased. Total downtime due to the hardware failure was less than five hours before they were back up and running.
After getting the client back on track, our team began a project to procure a new Dell server with Windows Server 2019. All databases and file sharing was then migrated to the new server. This also provided an opportunity to update their network from a workgroup setup to a domain for added security/management control of the end user workstations.
