Midwest Tape

The growth in the demand for all types of media had a major impact on the physical plant requirements of Midwest Tape. The full-service media distributor employs more than 300 staff and offers a wide selection of DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs, Audiobooks, and Playaways, while providing an array of media solutions to some 33,000 public libraries throughout the U.S. and Canada.

This new 100,800 SF warehouse and 34,560 SF office building houses the three divisions of Midwest Tape: Hoopla (the branch that provides online and mobile access to thousands of movies, TV shows, music, and audiobooks, and eBooks), Dreamscape (a media development group focusing on production, distribution, publishing and licensing of audiobooks, book-based children's video programs, and video and audio distribution services), and Operations. Corporate offices, open work areas, an IT room, a print room, conference rooms, break rooms, and two audio recording/production studios are housed within the administrative area. The warehouse accommodates truck docks, shipping/receiving, process/assembly, a break room, "pick & pack" area, staging, and supplies. The building's design improves workflow efficiencies, while allowing for future building phases as the company continues to expand.

Located at the northern edge of Wolf Creek Business Park, the new headquarters were positioned to take advantage of the existing wooded terrain, providing an outdoor picnic area for employees as well as walking paths.
