The JDI Group is currently teamed with a contractor for the design-build delivery of this 766,400 SF manufacturing facility. JDI’s architectural team led the schematic design phase for several additions to the manufacturing areas and corporate office. Our team completed permit drawings for a warehouse addition, tank room addition, truck unloading addition, corporate office addition, maintenance shop addition, and multiple interior alterations for the new process within the existing facility.
Our civil and surveying team led the site development for all new additions and site drainage, detention, roads and parking while our structural team designed foundations, slabs and framing for the conventionally framed additions as well as foundations, truck docks and slabs for the pre-engineered building additions.
A new façade and entry canopies at the main entrance and employee entrances will guide employees and visitors, while offering protection from the weather.
JDI’s mechanical and plumbing team reconfigured the fire suppression system and added a new fire pump and risers. A design for a cooling water system and a compressed air system for a new line was also provided.
Our electrical engineers are providing design for two new utility owned service transformers and the associated power distribution system for the new process equipment. This work also includes electrical one-lines for transformers and associated main distribution panels (MDPs). New power and lighting throughout the existing facility, corporate offices, and new additions are also part of the scope.
With sustainability in mind, the client will be applying for LEED Gold certification on the corporate office and has implemented best practices in sustainability throughout the entire project. The overall project construction cost including the new manufacturing process is estimated at $600M.
