jdi Recognized as Top Workplace for 4th Time

the jdi group, Inc. was named a 2018 Top Workplace in the Toledo Metro Area, the fourth year the firm has made the list. Tim Fry and Matt Davis, both Principals of the jdi group, accepted the award on behalf of the firm at a recognition dinner.

The Blade, a Toledo-based newspaper, and Energage, located in Exton, Pennsylvania and providing employee survey services, developed the Top Workplace listing from surveys that were filled out by staff of the individual firms. In all, 40 companies made the listing, divided into three categories: large, midsize, and small firms. the jdi group came in tenth in the Small Size Companies group, those with 74 or fewer employees. jdi employs 71 workers.

"To be named a Top Workplace in our region is extremely gratifying," stated Fry, who is an architect in addition to being a Principal of jdi. "It's a sign that we are achieving our goal to create a work environment that is positive, productive, and respects our employees' needs." jdi was founded on the principle of providing architectural and engineering services, empowering staff to carry out what they are trained to do without being micromanaged. According to Fry, "The Top Workplace award confirms we are headed in the right direction."

The employee survey consisted of 24 questions covering a variety of different factors: the direction the firm is headed and its execution, the level of appreciation shown for employees' efforts, employee engagement, and confidence in company leadership, among others.
